We are thrilled to announce the appointment of the orchestra's first ever composer in residence; James Olsen.
The orchestra has commissioned James to compose a piece to celebrate its 70th anniversary. "The Line is Immaterial: A Worthing Oratorio", which is to be performed as part of the Anniversary Concert on 23 March 2019. The Oratorio will feature not only the orchestra, but also Worthing Choral Society and the Boundstone Chorus, as well as the Sompting Village Primary School Choir. The piece is a celebration of community music in Worthing, and will set to music a montage of Worthing-related texts. The title is drawn from The Importance of Being Earnest, written in Worthing.
We hope you can join us to mark the start of this exciting new collaboration.
